Creating living spaces where everyone can flourish in harmony with their environment is our priority. Meadow is a 40,777 m² residential project in Herent (Leuven), creating a neighbourhood of 256 homes. Developed by BESIX RED and Vanhout Projects, with Binst Architects and POLO, it focuses on sustainability and a green environment. The diversity of the housing encourages interaction between people of all generations and social backgrounds, making the neighbourhood a dynamic place to live.
Concept and architecture
Meadow, set in a park, is a new neighbourhood with 256 homes spread over thirteen buildings. The architects have found the right balance between community and privacy, with unique continuous terraces. The variety of housing options, from studios to penthouses, meets local demand. The design and generous green spaces encourage quality of life and social interaction, with landscaped courtyards and integrated running tracks.

Sustainability
- Energy-efficient apartments. The apartments of the third and fourth phase comprise of nearly zero-energy dwellings
- All of the apartments of the third phase are connected to a large heat pump in the basement, while those of the fourth phase all dispose of their own small heat pump in the apartment. This ensures energy-efficient heating and cooling

Location and accessibility
Meadow is ideally located in the centre of Herent, just a 5-minute walk from Herent station and a 15-minute drive from Leuven. Offering extensive green spaces, it features underground parking and a car-free policy, ensuring unparalleled tranquillity for residents. Easy access is provided by the nearby entrance to the E314 (which connects to the E40) and excellent bus links between Leuven and Mechelen.
